Andrew’s research interests focus on increasing the operational efficiency of caring for hospitalized patients with the goal of optimizing the utilization of limited healthcare resources. He is also developing innovative hospitalist staffing models to facilitate increases coordination of care between inpatient and outpatient settings. He received his BA from Yale University; his MD and his MBA from the University of Chicago; and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Rush University Medical Center. Originally Andrew is from Wellesley, Massachusetts, and in the summer, he loves to sail on Lake Michigan.

Veena is a Postdoctoral Fellow affiliated with the Department of Medicine. Her current research interests include health policy; health sector governance; medical specialization; human resources for health; and systems research in low– and middle-income countries, particularly India.; and global health. She completed her PhD as Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and her MPH at Columbia University. Veena’s hometowns include Chennai, India, and Chicago, Illinois. She is a mom to two children and loves to bake.
